Arctic Experience Week
The Arctic Experience Week is a particularly intense winter adventure that fully immerses you in the beauty of the northern Swedish mountain landscapes. This program includes a dog sled ride, a two-day snowmobile tour including a visit to the Sami, and a day of ice fishing. During this week you will stay in a cozy mountain hotel with sauna and a typical Scandinavian bathtub. The trip takes you through enchantingly snowy forests, over vast fjälls and frozen lakes.
Ice Fishing
Right outside the door is Lake Akersjön, which is perfect for ice fishing. Together we drill a hole through the thick layer of ice and lower our lines. On the shore we make a warm campfire, where we enjoy hot drinks and cozy conversations. With any luck, we catch a fish, which we grill on the spot.
Two-day snowmobile tour with visit to the Sami
This trip will take us through pristine nature, snowy forests and across the fjäll with breathtaking views. We hope to see reindeer or even an elk along the way. In the afternoon we arrive at our overnight address, the Jänsmässholmens Fjällhotel. Here we enjoy a sumptuous three-course dinner and you can relax in the sauna or a traditional Scandinavian bathtub. With a little luck you will admire the northern lights while relaxing in the warm water.
The next morning begins with a hearty breakfast, after which we will meet the Sami. Here you will learn more about their culture, visit reindeer and enjoy a typical Sami meal. After a second evening at the fjäll hotel, rested and satisfied, we return to Fjällspirit Adventures through the photogenic winter landscapes.
Dog sled ride
A dog sled ride is a fireworks display of impressions! You steer your own dogsled and bear responsibility for your own team of huskies during the trip. After an introduction to the dogs and extensive instruction in mushen, the sleds are packed. As soon as we leave, you feel the explosive power of the huskies. After 100 meters, the dogs are fully focused on their work and take you on a silent, breathtaking journey through the winter world. Afterwards, you groom the huskies together with us.
Accommodation and meals
Overnight stays take place in our cozy cottages, equipped with all necessary facilities. Each cottage is suitable for 4 to 6 persons and has two sleeping lofts, a sofa bed, a kitchenette and a bathroom with shower and toilet. During the tours you will stay overnight at the Jänsmässholmens Fjällhotel, where comfort and relaxation are the focus.
Meals include:
- A breakfast with the possibility of preparing a packed lunch.
- A warm supper after a day of adventure.<M/li>
Practical information
Availability: Bookable from mid-January through the end of March.
Includes:
- Transfer to and from Östersund airport.
- 4 nights in a vacation home, 2 nights in a mountain hotel.
- 6x breakfast and packed lunch, 6x evening meal.
- Activities: dog sled ride, ice fishing, two-day snowmobile tour (2 people per scooter) and visit to the Sami people.
- All necessary materials will be provided.
