Ute i naturen - back to nature!
During this one-week bushcraft course we will teach you the basic skills of bushcraft and survival. At the same time you can fully enjoy the unspoiled Swedish nature. Discover how to utilize everything Mother Nature provides for survival.
What will you learn in the bushcraft course?
This course focuses entirely on getting back to nature. You will learn, among other things:
- Making fire without a lighter or matches.
- Build a shelter and spend the night in nature.
- Fishing and cooking on an open fire.
- Recognizing and collecting edible plants.
- Navigating with map and compass.
Program of the week
Day 1: Arrival from 4:00 pm, transfer to the husky farm Fjällspirit Adventures, check into the cottages, shared dinner, introduction to guides and explanation of the program.
Day 2: Workshop 1: Safe handling of knife and axe, fire making. Workshop 2: Fishing, navigating with map and compass, shelter building. Joint cooking on the open fire.
Day 3: Hike to canoe point, canoe trip to survival camp on a peninsula. Set up camp, find water, cook on fire and spend the night in self-built shelters.
Day 4-5: Deepening bushcraft skills: expanding camp, collecting wood, cooking, baking bread on the fire, collecting edible plants and fruits.
Day 6: Break down camp, return to base camp, hot shower and closing dinner.
Day 7: Breakfast and transfer to Östersund airport around 9:00 am.
“Safety first” applies to all activities. The program will be adjusted according to weather conditions.
Accommodation and meals
The first and last nights you will stay in typical Swedish cottages on the husky farm, 50 meters from Lake Akersjön. The cottages are equipped with:
- Shower and toilet.
- A kitchenette with hob, oven, fridge with freezer, coffee maker, kettle and toaster.
- A dining and sitting area with a sofa bed.
- Two sleeping lofts, suitable for two people each.
During the trip you will stay overnight in self-built shelters on the peninsula. Meals are prepared together over an open fire, which is an essential part of the bushcraft experience.
Practical information
Participants: minimum 4, maximum 8 people.
Includes:
- 3 nights in a cottage and overnight stays in a self-built shelter.
- All meals, including ingredients for outdoor cooking.
- Transfers to and from Östersund airport/station.
- Use of materials: canoes, paddles, life jackets, compasses, axes, saws, cooking equipment.
To bring your own: Backpack, sleeping bag, insulation mat, fixed knife and other personal equipment.
