By car
A popular route to reach Åkersjön is via the ferry from Kiel to Gothenburg.
- The night boat departs from Kiel and arrives in Gothenburg at 9:00 a.m. the next morning. This way, after a good night’s sleep, you can start your car journey safely and rested.
- From Gothenburg, follow the E45 via Mora all the way to Östersund.
- In Krokom (large Q8 gas station) take the exit to the right. At the next small roundabout, turn left.
- Follow the road past Lilholmsjö until you see a sign saying “Åkersjön 20 km”. Here you turn left.
- After about 20 minutes you reach Åkersjön.
By plane
There are no direct flights to Östersund, but a trip via Stockholm is easy to arrange.
- Flights from Brussels or Schiphol Airport to Stockholm and then to Östersund are efficient and fast.
- SAS often offers the cheapest prices and best routes. You can book through www.flysas.com or a Connection travel agency.
We personally arrange transfers to and from the airport. In the summer, you can also choose to rent a car at the airport for extra mobility during your stay.
By Train
Traveling by train to Östersund is also an option.
